Set up a local two-player game
- Open the online player and press Play.
- Choose a TANK option. At the cartridge's player menu, select its two-player option, then confirm with Start / Enter.
- Use arrows and Z/X for Player 1; W/A/S/D and H/G for Player 2. Player 2 also has T for Start and Q for Select.
- Move each tank separately before trying simultaneous movement and fire.
These are the site's defaults. Previously saved emulator mappings may override them. Open Control Settings and select the correct player if both sets of keys control the same tank or one player is unresponsive.
Two control configurations
One keyboard: use the two non-overlapping key sets above. Put the keyboard where both players can reach it without crossing hands. Test a direction plus fire for each player at the same time; some keyboards cannot register all combinations.
Separate controllers: connect each device, then assign them to different players in Control Settings. Alternatively, keep Player 1 on the keyboard and assign Player 2 a controller. Physical controller models and Bluetooth behaviour need testing on your device; the website cannot guarantee every combination.
Divide responsibility, not just the screen
Start with one tank intercepting on the left and one on the right. Keep a shared fallback area near the base rather than both pushing to the top. If a player crosses the middle to collect a bonus, say so: the other player should cover the abandoned lane before it becomes an emergency.
Do not line up directly behind your partner while firing. Even where a variant treats friendly shots differently, two tanks blocking the same narrow passage make retreat harder. Take turns through choke points and leave enough space to turn.
When one tank is lost, the surviving player should protect the respawn and the base instead of chasing a revenge kill. The run belongs to both players; a high individual score cannot undo a destroyed headquarters.
What this mode does not include
There is no network co-op service configured. “Online” means the game is delivered by a website, not that two distant browsers can join a session. A local save captures the shared emulated game in the same browser; it does not synchronise to a friend's device.
