Opening and advance
Move along the bottom first and identify the crossing you will use in both directions. Take one bend at a time instead of aiming for a straight route north.
Solo defence and local co-op
Hold the home side of the central water bends. In co-op, the advancing player announces the chosen crossing so the defender does not block the return.
Common mistake
Following the river boundary without checking its next bend can lead to a dead end while enemy shots still travel over the water.

The roster is fixed; movement, firing, spawn timing and the visible battle develop during play. The sequence is not a scripted route or a promised pickup location.
Sources and verification
Decoded from the stage-numbered Battle City (J) disassembly (listed ROM CRC32 F599A07E). Compared against two other data representations; source differences are retained in the verification record. Advice is editorial map analysis, not an original-ROM play-through. Tank 1990 correspondence has not been established.
