Opening and advance
Follow a channel whose return you have already checked. Save ordinary shots for enemies and removable brick joins, not the long steel walls.
Solo defence and local co-op
Stay near the lower channel exits. In co-op, choose different channels; meeting head-on in a steel corridor can trap both players.
Common mistake
An aggressive turn into an unexamined branch may force you to reverse through several corners while a fast tank reaches the lower field.
Fixed enemy configuration
| Fixed enemy configuration | Count |
|---|---|
| Basic | 2 |
| Fast | 8 |
| Power | 2 |
| Armour | 8 |
Type order in the first 35-stage cycle
2 × Power → 8 × Armour → 8 × Fast → 2 × Basic
The roster is fixed; movement, firing, spawn timing and the visible battle develop during play. The sequence is not a scripted route or a promised pickup location.
Sources and verification
Decoded from the stage-numbered Battle City (J) disassembly (listed ROM CRC32 F599A07E). Compared against two other data representations; source differences are retained in the verification record. Advice is editorial map analysis, not an original-ROM play-through. Tank 1990 correspondence has not been established.
