Opening and advance
Open a narrow entry in the lower edge of the formation. Move along that entry rather than spending the opening fight clearing the whole centre.
Solo defence and local co-op
Return to the lower outside lane after each push. In co-op, one player watches each flank of the brick mass; avoid both disappearing inside it.
Common mistake
Chasing through the centre can leave a power tank free to fire down an outer edge. The walls also make a direct retreat slower than it looks.

The roster is fixed; movement, firing, spawn timing and the visible battle develop during play. The sequence is not a scripted route or a promised pickup location.
Sources and verification
Decoded from the stage-numbered Battle City (J) disassembly (listed ROM CRC32 F599A07E). Compared against two other data representations; source differences are retained in the verification record. Advice is editorial map analysis, not an original-ROM play-through. Tank 1990 correspondence has not been established.
